In March 2022, the group met in Patna and had established high level targets for where we wanted to each by end of Sep. This page summarizes our actual performance vs those targets.

Looking ahead, we need to establish more specific and quantitative targets for the coming six month period to its easier to assess progress.

Content Identification and Dissemination

  • Content on key practices (N optimization and timely planting) reaches [200]k farmers

  • Target advisories based on highest potential for impact based on CIMMYT LDS analytics

  • Contents identified for rice and wheat advisories.  (2 for rice and 4 for wheat)

  • 5 generic video content on concept of CSA is created

  • Video dissemination for Kharif 2021 affected because of late buy in from JEEViKA, targeting dissemination during Rabi 2021 session (50K)

 

Data Collection

  • Lean data approach for kharif season

  • Operationalize water balance monitoring

  • Standards intercomparison

  • Data points for rice data collection revised (PADDY 2022 Survey data points) on the basis of requirement for Regrow’s DNDC model

  • 3 forms developed for rice and deployed in field for data collection

  • Soil hydrology related data points included in the forms

  • Target for Rice 2022 data collection 5K farmers, Wheat 2022 data collection 14K farmers

  • Scorecard 2.0; use kharif data as entry point for timely rice planting advisory

 

Ecosystem

  • Enabling environment in Bihar; transition pathways (ZT service economy, pilot driving demand through incentives)

  • Initial discussion on replication plan

  • Go ahead from JEEViKA to upscale the project interventions in 11 districts

  • Presented FRAME project at a CSO consortium in Bihar

  • Meetings held with BISA and Bihar Agriculture University and cross learning from their CRA project and FRAME project

  • Gameplan for DNDC

  • V1 intercomparison: DNDC not parameterized for soil hydrology, DNDC with hydrology, CFT, N-balance

  • What’s the output and intended outcome of this intercomparison? Use tier 3 models to generate a tier 2 equation
