Site Specific Fertilizer Recommendations | EDF is deploying an ODK based N balance calculator. User collects a few basic parameters, gets an n balance score, color coded based on results with advisory messages Relatively easy to go from N balance to a maximum rate / recommendation If we have yield and fertilizer practices in farmer data wallet, can generate specific N balance and rate recommendation in target districts and send out advisories (through VRPs and direct to farmers)

Modeling Approach | Reduce tier 3 to a tier 2 model and identify most impactful inputs. Assumed major drivers: yield level N application irrigation events field water balance
Not a naive approach, we have detailed understanding of these environments based on CSISA data about what's actually happening on the ground (crop growth processes, soil hydrology / water balance). crop phenology and yield deploy rice version of DNDC with a Direct measurements of emissions are not available, this is a problem for everyone involved in this space. Is anyone working on collecting more experimental data from the field?
