Discussion and Action points:

Falguni did a presentation on the progress so far and facilitated discussion around that. As we overshoot time, discussion couldn’t take place on the immediate deliverables.

  • Status Update: Jeevika wants analysis of the paddy data collected (of 279 farmers, Guruwa block, Gaya district) so that, it can be compared with the existing the PoP (available with Jeevika), that farmers are expected to follow, to identify the gaps in adoption. DG agreed to share the first draft of analysis by end of next week ( 12th Feb, 2022).

  • Farmer’s scorecard: The scorecard should include comparison for all the important agronomic practices the farmer adopted (e.g. Variety of seed, Land type, Date of transplantation/Sowing, Number of irrigation, Usage of organic manure in kg or tons, usage of inorganic manure in kg, number of weeding done, usage of micronutrients etc.) and then correlate the yield with these practices to find out the gaps, followed by relevant advisories. Only then it will make sense to the FLWs as well as to the farmers.

  • Agtual Farmer risk report: It is interesting and have scope, but it is also important to incorporate actual field situation with the third-party data to find out the root cause of the risk predicted. It will have a better value for the farmers.

  • Advisories:

  • a.      Any advisory should finally be vetted by Jeevika before sharing with the farmer’s or FLWs.

  • b.      Anil ji was also of opinion that the video advisories should be according to the PoPs available with Jeevika.

  • c.      Incorporate the ZBNF components in advisories, along with farmer’s testimonials, success stories and marketing aspects.

  • Anil Ji will have another look into the action plan and will share his suggestions on it.

  • DG requested Anil ji to formally communicate to the respective district managers for support in data collection in the three districts (Gaya, Jamui and Nawada). Blocks are identified in two districts (and communicated to Anil ji during the meeting) Gaya (Guruwa & Wazirganj) and Jamui (Khaira, Jamui Sadar), in consultation with the DPM/LM of both the district. Block identification still awaited in Nawada.

  • Because of shortage of time, discussion couldn’t take place on inclusion of Jehanabad into the data collection geography.

  • DG will share the content calender and the link of the videos with state team over email. State team will share with district and district in turn will share with the block teams. Report collection strategy need some more brainstorming.

  • Jeevika wants DG to arrange trainings for Jeevika team as well as the FLWs on GHG emission estimate processes and particular, science behind & respective CSA practices/FRAME project promoted practices.
