Final Proposal

 

High level summary

The objective of the work proposed for GIZ FAIR Forward funding is to drive integration of the collected dataset for the purpose of developing open source AI models that benefit farmers. To accomplish this objective, Digital Green proposes to:

  1. Create, structure and manage a dataset on small-scale agricultural production practices in Bihar;

  2. Host a data challenge for AI model developers to use the dataset - overlaid with satellite data - to address an area of interest to the government of Bihar (prompt to be determined based on outcomes of GHG emissions model calibration work) and publish the data challenge dataset and resulting AI models for open source access; and

  3. Support the data sharing ecosystem by documenting and sharing key lessons for data collection that uses a methodology that prioritizes farmer benefit and consent.
