Velugu Association has come up with other activities to test & pilot as part of DFN. i.e. Solar-powered Cold storage and collection centre for two FPOs. 1. Girivikasam MACS and Adivasi Raithu Pragathi MACS. We can find more details about these two FPOs in the attached documents.

Major crops Handled:

Girivikasam MACS: Cashew, Hillbrooms, Turmeric, Tamarind, Amla

Adivasi Raithu Pragathi MACS: Cashew, Hill brooms, pineapple, Turmeric, Tamarind, Amla

1. Solar cold storage for Girivikasam and Adivasi Raithu Pragathi FPOs

Capacity: 35MT

Budget: 15,00,000

Source of Budget:

Land contributed by the community.

Labour contributed by the Community.

Velugu will raise 5% of the unit cost.

Details: 30 MT capacity, Horticulture Velugu Association will raise 5% and community will bare 5%

Total Farmers covered: 750 (Girivikasam), 452 (Adivasi Raithu Pragathi MACS)

2. Collection Centers for Girivikasam and Adivasi Raithu Pragathi FPOs

Capacity: 35MT

Budget: 15,00,000

Source of Budget:

Details: Unit cost Rs. 1500000, 60Feet length and width 40 Feet, Horticulture Department backend subsidy 75% per unit, Requesting 15 % from Digital Green, Velugu Association will raise 5% and community will bare 5%

Total Farmers covered: 750 (Girivikasam), 452 (Adivasi Raithu Pragathi MACS)
