Node/ Participant | In the FarmStack network a node represents a set up owned by some organisation that runs FarmStack participant software |
FS Participant | A software that is run by the participant organisations of FarmStack network performing data exchange The software helps onboard various users at the participants The software helps create connectors through a web browser by the users The software helps find and connect to different connectors in the network |
FS Steward/ Central | A software that is run by a nodal agency who onboards participants provisioning to them FS participant They maintain the data exchange network by monitoring network and running important services like issuing certificates and maintaining network level details of connectors |
Usage control | The ability to control the usage of data in a data sharing agreement that restricts the usage of data in a certain way only |
Usage policy | A policy created by the participants to exercise usage control A usage policy is a software artefact (json-ld in the current implementation) |
